Jens Hansen died at his home west
of Exira Tuesday afternoon, of pneumonia.
The funeral occurred today,
services being conducted,, by Rev.
Gravengaard. After the ceremony at
the house, a procession of 80 teams
slowly marched to the Oak Hill cemetery
where the body was consigned to
its last home. The Oak Hill band, of
which the deceased was a member,
was present and discoursed dirges at
the home and at the grave. Mr. Hansen
was about; 28 years old and leaves
a sorrowing wife and three small
children to mourn the loss. of a loving
husband and a tender parent. Only a
short time before his death he had
taken the precaution to provide for his
family by obtaining a $1,000.00 insurance
policy in the Dee Moines Mutual.
The deceased was a large and robust
man and was carried away in the
prime of life. He was of a kind and
friendly disposition and a highly respected
citizen. The grief stricken
family have the heartfelt sympathy of
all in their great bereavement.

Note: Parents of Jens Hansen were Jens Hansen and A. Kristine Jensen. Jens was married to Louisa C. Miller.
