W. R. Bruner has received the
news of the death of his brother,
Harrison Bruner, at Sun Dance,
Wyoming, which took place last
Thursday.Audubon County Journal (IA)
Thursday, May 14, 1903, pg 6Death From Pneumonia.
Harrison Bruner passed suddenly
and peacefully away at his home in
this city about 9 o'clock Thursday
morning, April 30, 1903. He had
been employed near Moorcroft for
several weeks and had returned
home only the evening prior to his
death, having faced the freezing at-
mosphere for a distance of forty
miles. Last Monday Mr. Bruner
suspended work on account of an
annoying lung trouble and it was
his desire to get home as soon as
possible. The deceased was born
in Indiana fifty-seven years ago but
soon moved to Iowa, where he re-
sided until 1887, when he came to
Crook county. Mr. Bruner served
in an Iowa infantry and participated
in Sherman's famous march to the
sea. He was well known and highly
esteemed in the Sundance com-
munity and a more loyal citizen
would be hard to find. He was a
member of the Sundance G. A. R
post and was always willing and
enthusiastic in soldiery matters,
He was also a member of the Yeo-
man lodge of this city, and early in
life had united with the Christian
church in Iowa. Sundance has lost
an honest, upright man in the death
of Mr. Bruner. Besides a wife, four
sons and six daughters, the de
ceased leaves an aged mother, to
mourn his demise. Religious ser-
vices will be conducted by Rev.
Roberts at the M. E. church at 3
o'clock this afternoon and Mr. M.
Nichols will pronounce the eulogy.
Crook County Monitor.Note: Parents of Harrison R. Bruner were Henry Joseph Bruner and Lucena Eveline "Lucy" King. Harrison was married 1st to Hannah Etta Derry, and 2nd to Elizabeth Jane Hamlin.
