Mrs. Laura Snyder of Carson arrived
here Friday evening on ac-
count of the serious illness of her
brother, E. C. Crane's babe. She
returned to her home the next day.

Mrs. Colvin of Waterloo, mother
of Mrs. E. C. Crane, arrived here
Friday on the morning train, called
here on account of what was
thought to be the last illness of
her grandchild.

Mrs. E. C. Crane's mother returned
to Waterloo, Iowa, yesterday.

ERNEST CLEMENTS CRANE

The only and infant son of Mr. and
Mrs. E.G. Crane died in Exira, at
2:30 a. m. June 24, 1907, being eleven
months and three days old. Another
voice has been added to the angel
band calling us to live a life hidden
with Christ in God. Again has Jesus
said to us, "Suffer the little children
to come unto me and forbid them not
for of such is the Kingdom of Heaven"
Thus the light which has so brightly
shined into our lives has left a reflection
which will remain with us forever.

Hopes of fairest, sweetest promise,
Perished in the young decay;

And the hour that bore thee from us,
Carried more than wealth away!

Yet our loss, not thine gives anguish;
Thou hast won with life's poor
breath,

Life that ne'er shall end nor languish,
Early heaven with early death.

Easier now to "set affection
On the things that are above,"

For amid the bright collection,
Shines the jewel of our love!

Note: Parents of Ernest Clements Crane were Ernest Clement Crane and Lucy N. Colvin.
