EARLY HISTORY

BENJAMIN F. JENKINS

Benjamin Franklin Jenkins came here with his father’s family in 1851, married first, Martha Byrd. They were divorced and she was afterwards Mrs. Joseph Yetzer of Atlantic, Iowa. Married second, Josephine Gilbert. He was a prominent farmer and lived near Brayton; member of the Board of Supervisors. He died Dec. 24, 1887. His widow survived him and died later.
