Local and Personal
Chris, oldest son of Mr.
Peter Toft, passed away this morn-
ing at one o'clock, after a short
illness with pneumonia. Much
sympathy is extended the bereaved,
relatives. We will publish obituary
next week.

FINE YOUNG MAN DEAD
Chris Jorgensen Toft, oldest son
of Mr. and Mrs. Peter Toft, was
born at White Lake, South Dakota,
November 28, 1890. In 1897
he came with his parents to Audubon
County, Iowa, where he died
at his home near Brayton after one
week of severe illness, the influenza
having developed into pneumonia,
March 13, 1919. He leaves to
mourn his departure his parents,
three sisters, three brothers and
some other relatives.

Chris was a splendid young man
and ambitious. He is mourned by
hosts of friends who will ever remember
his kind deeds.

The funeral services were held at
the home, Friday afternoon at one
o'clock, Rev. Rasmussen, of Exira
and Rev. Weismann of St. Louis,
Missouri conducted the services.
Interment was made in the Exira
cemetery.

The bereaved relatives have the
sympathy of the Journal and many
friends.

Note: Parents of Christian Jorgensen "Chris" Toft were Peter Hansen Toft and Marie Kristiane Langvad.
