OAKFIELD---BRAYTON

The home of Mr. and Mrs. J. C.
Hardman is enveloped in a cloud of
dark, sad gloom. The iron hand of
death made its presence felt and those
who were happy and blessed but a
few short hours before were called to
take a last look at a dearly beloved
one and are now bowed down with
sadness and remorse. Roy, the 11-
year old son of Mr. and Mrs. J. C.
Hardman, died of diptheria Satur-
day evening, and a few minutes before
midnight and was buried Sunday.
He had only been ill for a few hours,
the physician having been called
shortly after dinner. Dr. Koob sum-
moned Dr. Emmert, of Atlantic, and
an operation--tracheotomy--followed
but they boy's life could not be saved.
The family was of course immediately
placed under quarantine and all nec-
essary restrictions were take. The
bereaved family have the heartfelt
sympathy of every one in the com-
munity in this doubly sad affair but
He alone "who doeth all things well"
can best bring solace to the aching
hearts of those who mourn.

Mr. and Mrs. Hardman wish to ex-
their most ardent thanks to the kind
friends and neighbors who assisted
them in their late bereavement.
