MRS. W. PRICE MANATT

Lucille Manatt, the daughter of Charles W. and Gertrude Cozine Taylor, was born March 21, 1904 near Audubon, Iowa and died January 12, 1980 at the age of 75 years.

She grew up near Audubon and became a member of the Methodist Church at an early age. She graduated from Audubon High School and attended Iowa Normal School at Cedar Falls, Iowa. She taught school in Brooklyn, Mason City, Gray, and Audubon and also in Cameron No. 9 rural school north of Audubon. She was active in civic affairs, including Eastern Star, B.P.W. and Garden Club.

On June 1, 1929 she married W. Price Manatt in the Methodist Parsonage in Mason City. Two sons were born to this union. They lived in Odebolt, Ia., Atlanta, Ga., Chicago and Galesburg, Ill., farmed near Audubon, and since 1966 lived in Audubon.

Her parents preceded her in death.

Survivors include her husband; her sons: Richard Manatt, Ames, and Charles Manatt, Los Angeles, Calif.; 7 grandchildren; and 2 sisters, Mrs. Lloyd (Alice) Anderson, Audubon, and Mrs. Emil (Doris) Ohm, Elkhorn, Nebr.

Funeral services were conducted by Rev. Vernon M. Sorensen on January 14, 1980 at the First United Methodist Church in Audubon. Interment was in the Maple Grove Cemetery, Audubon. Casket bearers were: Russell Bamsey, Robert Bourne, James Boyd, Art Christensen, Ellis Moreland, and Fred Sievers.
