John H. Hanes

John H. Hanes, 93, of 1424 46th St. died of renal failure Friday at the Urbandale Care Center. Services will be at 1 p.m. Monday at Merle Hay Mortuary, and burial will be in Highland Memory Gardens.

Mr. Hanes was born in Audubon and lived in Des Moines since 1943. He retired in 1962 from Allied Mutual Insurance Co. He was a member of College Avenue Christian Church and IOOF.

Survivors include his wife, Vera; a son, Jerry of Aurora, Colo.; a sister, Pauline Hanes of Denver, Colo.; a brother, Willard of Des Moines; seven grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
