LOCAL HAPPENINGS

Everett Wissler of Des Moines
was visiting Friday with his uncle,
Will Wissler and wife. He reports
that his father, Rev. H. L. Wis-
ler, who has been in the Methodist
hospital since last fall with a
broken hip, is gradually growing
weaker with but little chance for
recovery.

Rev. H. L. Wissler
Passed Away Friday

Rev. H. L. Wissler, 78, former
Exira pastor and a brother of Will
Wissler of this place (Exira), died Friday
at the home of his son, Everett
Wissler, in Des Moines after a
long illness.

Rev. Wissler was well known in
Exira having been pastor of the
Congregational church here from
1895 until 1903. From here he went
to Cincinnati, Iowa, later going to
Chester Center, Jewell and Gilbert
and then again to Chester Center,
where he was pastor until he re-
tired because of his health.

He is survived by four sons,
Will, Everett, Fred and Charles,
and one daughter, Floy, and a
brother, Will, of Exira.

Funeral services were held Mon-
day afternoon in Des Moines and
burial was in a Des Moines
cemetery.
