OBITUARY

Alvie Kenneth Akers was the son of Lincoln
and Mary Harris Akers and died at the Des Moines
General Hospital at the age of 69 years and 2 days.
He grew up in the Brayton area, was baptized in
the Exira Christian Church and attended Audubon
County Rural Schools. He farmed in Audubon
County for several years and was employed by Blue
Star Foods and Henningsen Construction Co. in
Atlantic, for a number of years.
On August 31, 1968 he married Betty Jean
Mundt at Audubon. They have lived near Brayton,
Iowa all of their married life.
Preceding him in death were his parents; his 8
brothers and sisters: Otto Akers, Laura Stager,
Byron Akers, Cleo Brown, Trilby Akers, Frank
Akers, Robert Akers and Sylvia Akers.
Survivors include his wife Betty Jean of Brayton;
his children: Marilyn, Mrs. Robert Andersen of
Exira, Iowa; Myron Akers of Menlo, Iowa; and
Marla, Mrs. Richard Swanson of Windsor, Colo.;
10 grandchildren; his brothers and sisters: Harold
L. Akers of Exira; Winona Kesselring of Ventura,
Cal.; Lillie Schwarting and Lewis Akers both of
Exira; and Coral, Mrs. Ray Gibson of Ventura,
Cal.; his stepchildren: Nicholas Vail, Cynthia Jean
Vail, Suzanne, Mrs. Marty Koenig, Richard John
Mundt, Tamara Marie Mundt and Randall Ray
Mundt; and one step-granddaughter.

The family of Mr. Akers appreciates the many
expressions of sympathy and concern. Everyone is
invited to meet with them in the Brayton Town Hall
following the Committal Service.
