Nels J. Boose Dies After
An Extended Illness
In Elk Horn

Nels J. Boose, well known resi-
dent of Elk Horn and for many
years a merchant in Exira, died last
Thursday at his home following an
extended illness.

He was born in Denmark on
November 10, 1861, and came to
the United States 1867. He was
married April 20, 1888, to Miss
Mariane Olsen in Atlantic. Mrs.
Boose died about a year ago.

Surviving are three sons and
three daughters. The sons are Os-
car, Martin and Marian Boose, all
of Elk Horn, and the daughters
are Mrs. Alex Pettrsen of Elk
Horn, Mrs. Gena Brown of Atlan-
tic, and Mrs. F. A. Rice of Berea,
Kentucky.

Funeral services were held Sat-
urday afternoon with the Rev.
Anders Hansen in charge. Burial
was in Elk Horn Cemetery.
