G. H. Petty Died
Last Thursday Afternoon

G. H. Petty, one of the pioneer
residents of this county, died Thurs-
day afternoon of last week at the
home of his daughter, Mrs. Robert
Kelly, in Audubon after an illness
of but two days. He was 82 years
of age.

Mr. Petty was born March 16, 1851
in Mahaska county. He was married
to Henrietta Ridpath December 4,
1872 there. They lived in that coun-
ty for five years and resided in
Guthrie county for a year. Since
then they lived on a farm near
Hamlin. Mrs. Petty died five years
ago. He is survived by eight children.
Funeral services were held Sunday
afternoon at 2:30 o'clock at the
Kelly home. The Rev. G. S. Nichols,
pastor of the Audubon Methodist
church officiated and burial was in
Arlington Heights cemetery.
