Doris S. Carper, 89, of Sunny View Care Center, 410 N.W. Ash Drive, Ankeny, died there Tuesday of complications of Alzheimer's disease. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at Exira Christian Church, with burial in Exira Cemetery.

Mrs. Carper was born near Exira, where she lived most of her life until moving to the care center in 1979. She was a member of First Church of Christ in Ankeny and Pythian Sisters.

Surviving are three sons, Roland of Swansea, S.C., Jack of Pooler, Ga., and Roger of North Platte, Ne.; three daughters, Audrey Walner of Des Moines, Joyce Walkup of Ankeny and Marsha Joines of Bondurant; a brother, Kenneth Kness of Hollister, Mo.; 27 grandchildren; and 31 great-grandchildren.

The family will visit with friends at 7 p.m. today at Kessler Funeral Home in Exira.
