Resident of Oakfield Town-
ship Passed Away Monday

Joab Chamberlin, a long time resi-
dent of this county, died Monday at
his home near Oakfield. Funeral
services were held at one o'clock Wed-
nesday afternoon at the Brayton
Baptist church, Rev. A. Rust officiat-
ing. Burial was in Oakfield cemetery.

Joab Quiel Chamberlin was born at
Rock Island, Illinois, July 8, 1850.
When quite young he moved to Iowa
where he has spent the remaining days
of his life. In the year 1874 he was
united in marriage to Mary Jane Nel-
son of Sac county, Iowa, to which
union were born six children, three of
whom died in infancy and three liv-
ing, Roy Chamberlin of Sioux Rapids,
Ray Chamberlin and Mrs. Tom Jones
of Brayton. His wife preceded him
in death November 19, 1911. He has
three living brothers, John, Amos and
Daniel, and one sister, Mrs. Esbon
Miller. Seven grandchildren are also
left to mourn his passing.

Mr. Chamberlin was converted when
a young man, a charter member of the
First Baptist church of Brayton where
he was an active and faithful worker
while health permitted.

house of this tabernacle were dis-
solved, we have a building of God, an
house not made with hands, eternal in
the heavens. Wherefore we labour,
that, whether present or absent, we
may be accepted of Him." II Corin-
thians five, one and nine.
