Funeral Of Beryl Tibben
Was Held Here Sunday

---------

Funeral services were held Sunday
afternoon at 1:30 for Beryl Tibben,
little son of Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Tib-
en, who died at the Atlantic hospi-
tal last Thursday evening from lock-
jaw. The service was held at the
Christian church with Rev. Sherman
B. Moore in charge. Burial was in
Exira cemetery. Four uncles of the
lad served as pall bearers, Lowell and
Ed Tibben and Earl and Robert
Meyer.

Beryl Melvin Tibben was born on
July 18, 1923. He was the only son in
the family and his loss is a severe
blow to the parents and sisters. The
sympathy of the entire community is
extended to those who mourn the loss
of this loved one.

Only a few short days ago Beryl
was about, a healthy, sturdy little
fellow, always ready to romp and
play. On Thanksgiving Day he fell,
striking his head on a stick, inflicting
a slight scalp wound. The wound was
given attention and seemed to be
healed nicely. On Wednesday after-
noon he was taken ill and rushed to
the hospital where everything possible
was done to save his life, but lockjaw
had set in and on Thursday evening he
was called home to God.
