F.H. Whitmore
Died Following
Stroke Thursday

Funeral Services Were Held
Sunday at the Brayton
Baptist Church

Frank H. Whitmore, who made
his home here with his daughter,
Mrs. Wayne Fowler and family,
died Thursday evening as a result
of a paralytic stroke, suffered dur-
ing the afternoon. Mr. Whitmore
had been in his good health and his
death was a great shock to the fam-
ily.

Frank Hamilton Whitmore was
born at Maquoketa, Iowa, on August
?, 1869. He was united in marriage
to Harriett Goodrich on February
15, 1887. To this union were born
nine children, one of them dying in
infancy. Mrs. Whitmore died in
February, 1914. (her gravestone says 1912)

The surviving children are Mrs.
Grace Harter of Atlantic, Benjamin
Whitmore of Council Bluffs, Mrs.
Nellie Newton of Omaha, Nebraska;
Romie P. Whitmore, Mrs. Myrtle
Heath, Mrs. Florence Chase, Fred
H. Whitmore and Mrs. Gertrude
Fowler, all of Exira. He also leaves
to mourn his passing his stepmother,
Mrs. Ella Whitmore, of Dubuque;
one brother, Ed Whitmore, of New
York, two sisters, Mrs. Lura Carr of
Edgemont, S. D., and Mrs. Carrie
Barrett of Hot Springs, S. D.; two
half brothers, Truman Whitmore of
Dubuque and Gordie Whitmore of
Calgary, 20 grand children and three
great grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Sun-
day afternoon at two o'clock at the
Brayton Baptist church conducted
by the Rev. A. G. Whittier, pastor
of the Exira Church of Christ. Bur-
ial was in the Oakfield cemetery.
