WIFE FOLLOWS HER
HUSBAND TO GRAVE

----------

Just two weeks and a day after the
death of her husband, the late Wil-
liam Toepfer, Mrs. Elizabeth (Stepper) Toepfer,
a resident of Atlantic since 1869, died
Monday at the Iowa Lutheran hospi-
tal, Des Moines, where she had been
taken for treatment for stomach
ulcers, following the funeral of her
late husband.

Mrs. Toepfer had been ailing for a
number of years and at the time her
husband passed away was in a se-
rious condition and was taken to the
Des Moines hospital in the hope that
she might recover sufficiently to be
taken to the home of her son, John
W. Zuch, at Fort Worth, Texas, to
make her home. But, although every-
thing which could be done for her was
done she did not respond to treat-
ment and passed away.

Funeral services were held in At-
lantic, Wednesday afternoon, conduct-
ed by Rev. H. J. Howard, and burial
was in the Atlantic cemetery.
