FUNERAL SATURDAY
FOR EXIRA PIONEER

----------

Nettie M. Dodge was born at Hen-
niker, N. H., January 17, 1850, the
child of Boynton G. and Sophronia J.
Dodge. She came with her parents
to Exira in 1856 and was married
there to Charles E. Bartlett in May
1869. Her life was spent at Exira
with the exception of the years from
1885 to 1901 when the family lived
near Chadron, Nebr. She was the
mother of eleven children: Edwin
H., Mrs. Addie Whetstone and Mrs.
R. J. Chase, all of Casper, Wyo., Lor-
en L. and Frank, of Stoneville, S. D.;
Mrs. Jennie Fiscus and Mrs. Emily
Wigges of Audubon; Annie May, who
died in childhood; Bert and Carrie,
who died after reaching maturity.
Her husband preceded her in death
fourteen years ago.

Besides the immediate family, Mrs.
Bartlett is mourned by two brothers,
A. C. Dodge of Exira and M. B.
Dodge of Kalispell, Mont.; and four
sisters, Mrs. Ida E. Dyer of Okaton,
S. Dak., Mrs. L. C. Kirkeberg, Fair-
point, S. Dak., Mrs. Frank Williams
and Mrs. John Rendleman of Exira.

Many grandchildren and several
great grandchildren also feel deeply
their loss in her death.

She united with the Congregational
church at Exira when a girl and re-
mained a true follower of Jesus
Christ until her death, exemplifying
in word and deed the spirit of Him,
whom she has accepted as Lord and
Master. Her life was spent in un-
selfish service for others, and she
met every sorrow and trial with a
courage and faith derived from God.
The influence of such a life is with-
out end.

Her death occurred at Casper, Wyo.
January, 1926 and funeral services
were held at Exira January 16, fol-
lowed by interment in the Exira ceme-
tery.
