Short Illness is Fatal to
Mrs. Samuel Green of
This Place---------
Mrs. Samuel Green died at her
home Saturday morning following
an illness of only a few days.She had not been sick a very
great length of time in her last ill-
ness, having done her work up un-
til shortly before the end. On Mon-
day afternoon of the week in which
she died she had felt somewhat
tired and had taken to her bed.
Friday evening she had sat up in a
chair and receive visitors, and had
explained to them that she expected
to get up and begin to get around
again on the next morning. Early
on Saturday morning she had a is
on, but the effort proved too much
for her heart, and at six o'clock in
the morning of Saturday, January
10th, she passed into that calm
and peaceful rest which knows no
physical awakening.Sarah Elizabeth Luzadder was
born in Polk county, south of Des
Moines, on the 21st day of Novem-
ber, 1858. She had spent her life
time in the state of Iowa, having
lived for the greater share of the
time in Cass and Audubon counties.
She came to Audubon county in the
spring of 1894, and finally moved
to Exira in 1912.When a very young woman, the
deceased met Samuel B. Green, and
became married to him in Cass
county on November 29, 1874. To-
gether they had passed their 56th
wedding anniversary. To this
union were born 16 children, 8 of
whom preceded their mother to the
Great Beyond.Left to mourn the departure of
this loving wife and mother, are
the husband mentioned above,
eight children, Mrs. Flora Price of
Haxton, Colorado; Mrs. Rose Kel-
ly and Mrs. Stella Hutchinson, both
of Mitchell, Nebraska; Mrs. Dale
McLain of Pinche Creek, Alberta,
Canada; Elmer Green and Asa
Green of Exira, Ben Green of Ea-
gle Grove; and Claude Green of
Exira; 3 brothers, Joe and Aaron
who live in Ohio; and Lehigh, liv-
ing in Oklahoma, a sister, Mary
in Ohio; 51 grandchildren, 36
great grandchildren; two cousins,
a number of nephews and neices
and a great host of friends.Funeral services were held at the
Church of Christ at ???? Tuesday
afternoon with the Rev. ?. G. W??
?? in charge. Burial was in the
Oakfield cemetery.
