HEART ATTACK CAUSED
DEATH OF WM. LITTLEFIELDWord was received here yesterday
morning announcing the death of
William Littlefield in Des Moines.
Death was due to an attack of heart
trouble with which the deceased was
stricken in the lobby of the Oxford
hotel Tuesday evening.Folly and Roy Littlefield, brothers
of the dead man went to Des Moines
yesterday and the remains will arrive
in Exira this afternoon. Funeral
services will be held at the Christian
church tomorrow afternoon with Rev.
Dale Humbert in charge. Burial will

HERE FRIDAY AFTERNOON------------
Funeral services for the late Wm.
Littlefield were held from the Chris-
tian church Friday afternoon at two
o'clock, conducted by Rev. Dale Hum-
bert. Burial was made in Exira
cemetery.Wm. A. Littlefield was a son of
Alonzo and Sarah Littlefield and was
born on August 24, 1881, in Audubon
township. He passed away at Des
Moines from an attack of heart
trouble on January 14. He was one of
a family of eleven children and is
survived by five brothers and sis-
ters as follows: Tom L. of Leth-
bridge, Canada; Charles, John, Follie,
and Roy, all of Exira; Mrs. Nelsen
Rummelhart of Guthrie Center; Mrs.
John Martin and Mrs. John Kilworth
of Exira; Miss Ena Littlefield of
Des Moines and Mrs. Cyrus Petersen (Peterson)
of Ringsted.His mother, Mrs. Sarah Littlefield,

LOCAL ITEMSMr. and Mrs. Cyrus Petersen of
Ringsted were in Exira Friday to at-
tend the funeral of her brother, the
late Wm. Littlefield.Rev. Dale Humbert returned to his
school work at Des Moines Monday
after putting in a very strenuous
weekend in Exira. Friday he preach-
ed a funeral sermon. Saturday he
preached two funeral sermons and in
the evening went to Morton Mills to
take part in a concert and on Sunday
he attended to the regular church ser-
vices. Rev. Humbert is a real work-
er and always smiles no matter how
much work he has to do which is the
reason for his large number or friends
