AUDUBON CIVIL WAR
VET BURIED MONDAY

Funeral services were held in Au-
dubon Monday for A. M. Drake, civil
war veteran and long time resident
of that city, who died at the Cherokee
state hospital, Thursday of last week.

Mr. Drake, who was a member of
the Audubon Grand Army post, had
been at the hospital a number of
years. He had lived in Audubon since
the eighties. His wife died about ten
years ago. The deceased was over
eighty years of age.

Four sons are left to mourn his loss.
They are Frank Drake, Newton; Ira
Drake, Chicago; Clarence Drake, Port
Arthur, Texas, and D. D. Drake, Des
Moines.

The remains were taken to the home
of Mr. and Mrs. W. W. Smith, par-
ents of the wife of Dr. D. D. Drake,
and there the funeral services were
held. G. A. R. and Legion members
accorded full military honors at the
grave.
