BURIED HERE MONDAY

Mrs. C. D. Woodward (Sarah Jane Kirkham), a former res-
ident of Exira, passed away at the
home of her son, Will, in Atlantic, on
Saturday, May 16. Death was due to
complications incident to her old age.
She was 91 years of age on April 27.

The deceased was born at Knoxville,
Illinois, April 27, 1834. She was mar-
ried to C. (Charles) D. Woodward in 1852. A
short time after the marriage Mr. and
Mrs. Woodward came to Exira, where
he engaged in the blacksmith business.
They resided here a number of years,
going from this place to Atlantic to
make their home. Mr. Woodward
passed away about ten years ago (1913).

The deceased is survived by two
children, Ed of California and Will of
Atlantic, with whom she made her
home.

Funeral services were held at At-
lantic Monday with Rev. Spooner in
charge. The remains were brought to
Exira and interment made in the fam-
ily plot in the Exira cemetery.
