Retired Farmer
Dies Saturday

Samuel G. Weaver, 85, well-
known retired Audubon county
farmer, died Saturday afternoon
at the home of his son and
daughter, Sidney Weaver and
Miss Anna Weaver, with whom
he recently has lived. Mr. Weaver
had been in failing health for two
years and was bedfast for the past
six weeks.

He was born January 22, 1856,
at Lena, Illinois, and was married
at the same place to Mattie John-
ston, November 7, 1876. The
couple spent all their married
life in Audubon county living on
a farm in Greeley township until
1916 when they moved to town.
Mrs. Weaver died March 3, 1931,
and following her death, Mr.
Weaver spent most of his time at
Long Beach, California, until
three years ago.

Surviving besides the two chil-
dren at home, are two daughters,
Mrs. Matt Gardner of Audubon
and Mis. Lillian Bryon of Ontario,
California; three grandchildren,
three great grandchildren and a
sister, Mrs. Ida Baldwin of Lena,
Illinois.

Funeral services were held
Tuesday at 2 p. m. in the First
Presbyterian church in Audubon.
The Rev. Paul E. Parker officiat-
ed. Burial was in the Maple
Grove cemetery in Audubon.
