Exira Department

At twelve o'clock, noon, on Wed-
nesday, March 12, 1902, at the Chris-
tian parsonage in Exira, occurred
the marriage of Mr. John W. Martin
and Miss Minnie Littlefield, both of
Audubon township. The ceremony
was performed by Elder E. C. Whit-
aker in the presence of only the
necessary witnesses. The groom is
a young man who has grown to
manhood in that neighborhood and
has always been known as a young
man of unsullied reputaton for
truth and honesty wherever he is
known and by his diligence, indus-
try and economy has secured a
good farm where he at once takes
his bride. The bride has lived
in that neighborhood since child-
hood, and her friends are many.
She is quiet, unobtrusive young
lady who will make a loving and a
devoted wife to him who has chosen
her as such. That their wedded life
will be one of unsullied joy is not
doubted. Their many friends will
join in wishing them all the happi-
ness attainable in the solemn re-
sponsibilities they have assumed.

Note: Parents of John William "Boone" Martin were James Henry Martin and Elizabeth Jane "Bettie" Goforth.
Parents of Minnie Marie Littlefield were Alonzo Follansbee Littlefield and Sarah Edwards.
