In Response To: Mary Ann Manson Mershon (Margery Mitchell)

Thank you for reminding me of this! So sorry!

I have her birth date approx 1799 in South Carolina

I believe she married Henry T Mershon - where? When? etc.....

Her daughter, Rebecca Ann Mershon, was born in 1823 in Alabama to Mary Ann Manson and Henry Mershon.

Rebecca Mershon and John Crow had daughter Malinda Jane Crow born in 1843 in Farmington, Van Buren, Iowa. (I have no idea where Mary Ann Manson is at this time. I think her husband, Henry Mershon (think this was him) had already passed away (where I have no clue, but possibly TN) so she could already have been living with the Crow family?

1850 Census Living in Washington, Appanoose Iowa living with her John/Rebecca Crow. Malinda J Crow was 7 years old at this time.

1860 Census she is living in Udell, Appanoose, Iowa. This is when her daughter Rebecca Mershon Crow has already passed and she is residing with John Crow and his children. Malinda Jane Crow is now 16

1865 Malinda Jane Crow marries Reason Arthur Rupe in Kirksville, Adair, MO

1870 census, from what I can tell, Mary Ann Manson goes to live with her brother William S Manson, her brother, in Center, Appanoose, Iowa

1880 census shows her back in Centerville, Appanoose, Iowa - living with her grand-daughter Malinda Jane Crow Rupe

1900 census show the Rupe family now living in Telford, Meade, South Dakota. Mary Ann Manson is not with them.

I hope this helps! I have hit all my dead ends with poor Mary Ann Manson. Seems like she moved around with her children/grand children. I can not find anything on her death, obit, where she was buried, marriage, etc. If it wasn't for the census, it would seem like Mary Ann Manson Mershon never existed. I can not find anything!
