Leonard Showers, who later lived in Appanoose County, IA, was born to Henry & Lois Showers about 1825 in New York. Henry Showers is found on the 1820 & 1830 NY Censuses in Steuben County. Henry & Lois Showers' children were: 1)William Showers who married Mary Brazel 13 Oct 1842 in Ripley Co, IN; 2) Mary Showers who married Bushrod T. West 16 Dec 1838 in Ripley Co, IN; 3) Leonard Showers who married Martha Ann Currey 14 Dec 1847 in Decatur Co, IN; & 4) Reuben H. Showers who married Celia Catharine Hopkins 12 Feb 1852 in Decatur Co, IN. It appears Mary Showers & Bushrod T. West's last two children, Leanord & Josephine, were born in Taylor Twp, Taybitue, Appanoose Co, Iowa.
