Here's a suggestion for you, if you don't already have these.

Try to get copies of John and Emily's obituaries, they may tell you something about Frank, like where he was living when they died. I've had success asking the local library to do searches for me from their newspaper archives. Findgrave has the year of their deaths and you may have more precise dates to aid their search.
