Old Cemetary

My parents managed the Appanoose County, County Farm from about 1953-1960. There was an old Cemetery in a pasture North of where the buildings for the home were. It had some permanent flat stone markers and some metal things that were just stuck in the ground with names and dates on them. My dad built a fence around it when we lived there to keep the cows out of it. There probably was not anyone buried there since the 1920’s. The people buried there probably had lived at the County Home during that time. I remember that there were some babies buried there. I just wondered if I am the only aware of that cemetery.

The cemetery was next to the East fence line and probably ½ mile or so north of the road in front of the farm. I think Merl Loofburough owned the land next to and East of the County Farm.
