Jumper/Awalt/Morlan/Indian Ancestors?

JUMPER, AWALT, OCKERMAN, MORLAN

My husband's family came from Iowa; and there was an idea in the family that they had an Indian heritage. His father's name was Otto and his grandfather was Solomen Jumper and his grandmother, Ella Morlan. I understand they are related to the Awalt's and Ockerman's in Iowa. Would like to find who Solomen's mother and father were. I know his grandparents on his mother' side were Seaman's and he had a sister named Harriet.
