In the 1925 special census, Andrew listed his parents as Ben Peterson (born Sweden) with no name listed for his mother. Amelia listed her parents as John Hydt (born NY) and Elizabeth Bowen (born NY).

In the 1920 census for Mystic, Iowa they have five boys living with them with the name of Peterson. Oscar is 28, Edgar is 26, Harry is 23, William is 18 and Herbert is 16. All the boys were born in Iowa and all six males (father plus children) are listed as coal miners. That makes sense since Mystic was a big coal mining town.

This record of their marriage lists his parents as John Peter Peterson and Stine Johnson and her parents as George Hydt and Margaret Hydt (not her maiden name).
