I am looking for info on the parents of Cornelius Young. He was a hotel runner in Corning, b. 1851, d. 12 Dec 1891, of pneumonia. On census records, where everyone else's parents place of birth is listed, there are blanks for his parents. Is it possible that Cornelius was an orphan? Was there an orphanage in or near Appanoose in the 1850s? According to the 1885 Iowa census, he was born in Appanoose County. Can anyone help me find his parents?
