Yes, this is quite the puzzle....
My grandfather was Albert and his father was Alva...From past records and from family members Alva's wife's name was Erma...(and I have found her last name as Connell)..then when I found the Emma name( my guess is that it was mispelled or sometimes even hard to read (handwritten)....Erma..Emma...!!!!!!
What do you think!!! But the ??? is, where is Erma (Emma)and why did she leave her son(Albert) at such a young age (to live w/his grandparents..(Did she die before Alva?)
