I found the following information in the Vermillion Township Cemetery Book published in the 1980s by the Appanoose Co. Genealogical Society:

Oakland Cemetery-Vermillion Township-Appanoose Co., IA (this is a very large cemetery located on the east edge of Centerville, IA)

Section 9-Row 12

STIER: E. W. Jan. 23, 1815-July 26, 1891

Elizabeth Mar. 6, 1815-Jan. 7, 1893

W. S. May 9, 1847-Aug. 1, 1913

Section 10-Row 6

STIER: J. D. d. Sept. 20, 1889

40 y, 7m, 22d Father

Also in the 1880 Federal Census for Appanoose County (published in 1990 in book form by the App. Co. Gen. Soc.)I found the following:

Center Township

STIER: Elliott W.-M-64-jailer-VA-MD-MD

Elizabeth-F-63-wife-keeps house-VA-OH-VA

William S.-M-33-son-dep. sher.-IA-VA-WV

George H.-M-29-son-law student-IA-VA-WV

HOLYDAY, George-M-21-gson-harness shop-IA-IA-IA
