Theodore “Ted” Cosner Vlahos, 78, died October 3, 2021, at St. Luke’s Hospital. Celebration of life gathering will be from 3 to 6 p.m. Saturday, October 9, 2021, at Brosh Chapel and The Avacentre in Cedar Rapids, located at 2121 Bowling Street SW, where there will be a time of reflection beginning at 6:00 p.m. Graveside services with military rites will be 12:00 p.m. Sunday, October 10, 2021, at Oakland Cemetery in Centerville.
Theodore was born October 11, 1942, in Centerville, the son of Peter and Jean (Cosner) Vlahos. He graduated from Centerville High School, class of 1961. Ted served in the United States Army for three years. He was married to Annie Lee for over 55 years. He worked at Farmstead Foods/Wilson Packing and was a mail carrier with United Postal Service for many years. Ted enjoyed boxing, reading, playing the trumpet, listening to music, running, watching sports, and spending time with his family.
Ted is survived by his children Nicole (Curtis) Sanders, Tim (Bridget) Vlahos, Andre (Jenny) Vlahos; his stepchildren Freddy Coleman, and Ricky Coleman all of Cedar Rapids; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; his brother Clare (Ann) Vlahos of Independence, Missouri.
Ted was preceded in death by his parents and his wife Annie.
