Mrs. Nancy Catherine Cole, born Nancy Catherine Haught was born in the state of West Virginia January 21, 1848 and departed this life April 21, 1926 at the age of 78 years, 3 months. She came with her parents to Iowa in 1861, was untied in marriage to Cornelius Proctor Cole December 12, 1866. To this union five children were born, the husband preceding her in death October 12, 1823, and Mildred and Proctor who died in infancy and Brazelle Bowen who died May 28, 1891. Two daughters are left to mourn her departure.
Helen Josephine Nelson of near Moulton, Iowa, and Jessie A. Ball of Plano, Iowa and five grandchildren, besides a host of relatives and friends. Aunt Kate, as she was familiarly known has been an invalid for the past six years and since the death of her husband she has made her home with her daughter Jessie.Funeral services were conducted from the Christian church at Plano, Iowa by Elder Win Master of Promise City, on the afternoon of April 22, 1826, after which interment was made in Concord cemetery.
