Centerville Weekly Citizen, January 7th, 1871.

James E. Jackson, son of William Jackson, a lad nine years of age, started alone with a yoke of oxen and wagon loaded with corn, from a field two miles from home. When the team arrived home he was lying on the load of corn with his hat under his head, nearly insensible. His mother took him in and he died in a few minutes, speaking but one or two words. No marks or injury perceptible. Cause of death a mystery, probably never to be known.
Since the above was written, word comes that it is thought the boy fell from the wagon, the wheels passing across his breast.
