Bill Fisk

Bill Fisk, 76, of Centerville died Thursday, May 9, 1996, at St. Joseph's Mercy Hospital.

He was born June 25, 1919 near Macon Mo., the son of Boyd and Jennie (Leathers) Fisk.

He married Ethelyn Edwards Nov. 14, 1942, in Santa Monica, Calif. She survives.

Also surviving are a daughter, Gayla Hartwick and her husband, Jerry, of Eagan, Minn.; a sister, Reta (Mrs. Millard) Clark of Raytown, Mo.; a brother, J.B. Fisk and his wife, Marjoie, of Belton, Mo.; and two grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

He served in the Army during World War II. He and his wife lived in Kansas City, Mo., then in 1950 he and his family moved to Cowgill, Mo., where he operated a grocery store for eight years. They moved to Centerville in 1958 and opened a Davis Paint Store on the north side of the square until retirement in 1981. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Centerville.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. today, Monday, at the Schmidt-Duley Funeral Home in Centerville with the Rev. Jim Gubser officiating. Burial with full military rites will be at the Oakland Cemetery in Centerville. Visitation was held Sunday and friends may call from 8 a.m. today until time of services.

A memorial has been established to the First United Methodist Church and contributions may be left at the funeral home.
