Obituary
James Samuel Haught, son of Willis and Cornelia Haught, was born in Johns Township, Appanoose County, July 15, 1875. He parted this life August 27, 1950. He spent his entire life in this county as a farmer and coal miner, and was a member of the Christian Church and the United Mine Workers of America. On the June 19, 1898, he was united in marriage to Sarah Jane Frost who survives him. To this union two sons were born, Wilson B. of Ottumwa and James C. who passed away October 6, 1934.
He is also survived by four grandchildren and two great grandchildren, two aunts Mrs. Bethel Vanness of Centerville and Mrs. Della Close of Plano and several cousins and a host of friends.
He was a loving husband and father, and a good neighbor and will be missed by all who knew him.
The funeral will be held in the Christian Church in Numa with Rev. Vernon Goff officiating and Tom Ross, Guy Baumgartner, Logan Andrews, Andrew Gillespie, Walter Frazell and George Wilcox acting as pallbearers.
