William L. Wright, son of Edward R. and Jane F. Wright was born in Appanoose county, Iowa May 11, 1855 and passed away at his home Feb 22, 1920, aged 64 years 9 months and 11 days. He was married to Ida M. Ashby March 18, 1874. To this union were born three chlidren all of which are at home and with the daughter-in-law and mother helped to care for him in his last sickness, which lasted two weeks. All that loving hands and good care could do, was done for him. The children are Dick A., Keith C., and Asher E. Besides the immediate family he leaves three sisters and one brother. The sisters are Mrs. Mary E. Wright, Miss Phoebe J. Wright, Mrs. Sarah I. Swank, and J. R. Wright. The three sisters were all with him the last few days of his sickness.
The deceased was a member of the I.O.O.F. for a number of years. He was a good husband and father, a good citizen and neighbor. Besides his family he leaves many relatives and friends. He was always ready to help in sickness and trouble. He spent practically all his time on the old home farm in Bellair township, but for the last 5 years he lived in Vermillion township where he died.
