Lou O’Brien

Mrs. William H. (Lou) O’Brien, 74, of 1426 1st Ave. E., Apt 3D, a resident of Newton since 1976, died Sunday, June 2, at the Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, June 6, at the Johnson-Lange Funeral Home in Centerville.

The Rev. Walter King, pastor of the Church of the Nazarene, will conduct services. Burial will be in the Elgin Cemetery in Mystic.

Friends may call at the funeral home after 3 p.m. Tuesday, June 4. Visitation with the family will be held from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Wallace-Pence Funeral Home in Newton.

Memorial contributions to a fund in Mrs. O’Brien’s name may be left at the funeral home.

Survivors are two sons, Cela Seals and Ora Seals, both of Newton; four daughters, Mrs. Elmer (Iris) Salasberry and Leola Jones, both of Newton, Mrs. Edward (Shirley) Bills of Mystic and Faith Hope Richards of Centerville; 22 grandchildren; and 33 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband March 13, 1984, three brothers, five sisters and a great-granddaughter.

The daughter of John W. and Sarah Scarlett Robinson, she was born March 20, 1911 in Centerville.
