Mrs. H. W. Chambers
Nancy Freelove Clancy, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Wesley Clancy, was born near Unionville, Iowa, Feb. 4, 1857. Here she has lived near the old home place the greater part of her life. She departed this life Nov. 29, 1913, at the age of 56 years, 9 months and 25 days.
She gave her heart to Christ at the age of 14 years, and united with the Miller Baptist church, and has always been a faithful christian, and a true, loving wife and mother. She was a member of the Udell-Baptist church at the time of her death.
She was united in marriage to H. W. Chambers Jan. 26, 1879 and to this union were born nine children, of which the two older, Ray and Ralph, preceded the mother to the Heavenly home to await her coming. She leaves to mourn her death a husband and seven children: Clara Swank, Estella Criddlebaugh, Ruth Winans, Anna Hiatt, Sophronia, Frank and Martha; eight grandchildren, one brother, four sistters and a host of other relatives and friends.
The funeral was held at the Presbyterian church in Unionville and the body laid to rest in the Unionville cemetery west of town. In spite of the rain and mud, a large audience filled the church to overflowing to pay their last respects to this devoted wife and mother. All who knew her will testify to the quiet, sincere, devoted christian life so long a mark of her home. Rev. W. F. Huxford, of Centerville, preached the funeral sermon from Psa. 90:9.

Note: buried at Eaton Cemetery, Unionville, Appanoose County, Iowa.
