B. A. JOINER DEATH
AFTER LONG ILLNESS

Death Came to Relieve His Sufferings
This Morning about
One O'clock

Beverly A. Joiner died this morning about 1:00 o'clock at his home on North Main street after a long illness from paralysis. He was first stricken during Chautauqua week and lay for
several days in a helpless condition. He then improved some until last Tuesday morning when a second attack of paralysis affected the portion of his body not previously affected and he became unconscious, lying in that condition until death this morning. The funeral services will be held from the First Methodist Episcopal church tomorrow at 2:00 o'clock, conducted by Dr. W. P. Stoddard and the Masonic lodge. Interment will be made in Oakland cemetery beside his wife who died two years ago.
Beverly A. Joiner was born near Cincinnati, Ohio, November 10, 1829, and was at the time of his death 75 years, 10 months and 26 days of age.
He was married at Columbus. Indiana, November 13, 1850, to Caroline Rupert, who died September 25, 1903. There were three children born to them: J. D. Joiner, who died several years ago; Mrs. Mary E. White, of Seymour, and Mrs. Julia Boggs, of Centerville. The two daughters, with his daughter-in-law, Mrs. J. D. Joiner, and several grand children, mourn the death of a good Christian man who was a true citizen, brave soldier and a faithfut parent. Mr. Joiner answered the call of his country for defenders and enlisted as Sergeant in Company B, Forty-seventh infantry, May 2, 1864, and served during the rest of the war having a good record as a brave soldier, engaging in several battles
with credit to his regiment. In early life he was engaged in the grocery business and was a baker, but in late years until feebleness of age caused him to retire, he was a harness dealer in Centerville. He was a member of the Masonic order and local G. A. R.
In the death of Mr. Joiner, Centerville loses a good citizen, the nation a true patriot, the church a faithful Christian member and the family and friends a loving parent and friend. He was unassuming in life, going about his daily
work with a patience and care which marked him as a worthy associate for all good people.
