THOMAS C. RUCKER
Thomas Carter Rucker, son of James and Hannah Rucker, was born in Libertyville, Jefferson Co.
Iowa, Dec. 10, 1853, departed this life April 19, 1934, being 80 years 4 months and 9 days at the time of his death.
He was united in marriage to Laura Ann Clark, Feb. 13, 1870. To this union seven children
were born, three daughters and four sons. Having been preceded in death by two daughters and one son, he leaves to mourn his departure his wife Laura, one daughter Zelma Megrew, of Garner, and three sons, W. R. of Byron, Okla., L. P. of Pittsville, Wise, and Clarence
of Centerville, three sisters Etta Jones of Bushnell, Nebr., Ella Hamilton of Numa, Eva McDonald of Bartlesville, Okla., and four brothers Ernest L. of Maywood, Nebr., Milton H. of Ansley, Nebr. Sherman of Lawrence, Kan. and H. E. Rucker, of Sharon, Kansas. There are also fourteen grandchildren, twenty one great grandchildren, and a host of friends.
He spent the most part of his life in Appanoose county Iowa, being a successful farmer and veterinary. He was a man of sterling character, honest and upright in all dealings with his fellowmen, never going into debt. He was never affiliated with any church, yet a believer in religion.
His body was carried to its last resting place at Orleans cemetery, by his two sons, three
grandsons, and son-in-law.
