COOP Rites In Ottumwa

Tommy Lester (Les) COOP, 88, father of Oris COOP of Fairfield, died Tuesday at 3:30 p.m., at his home, 110 N. Weller St., in Ottumwa.

The funeral will be Friday at 1:30 p.m., at the Calvary Baptist Church in Ottumwa with the Rev. Billy Pool officiating. Burial will be in Taylor Cemetery in Appanoose County, Iowa.

The Reece Funeral Home of Ottumwa is in charge of arrangements. A memorial fund is payable to the Piano Fund at Calvary Baptist Church.

COOP was born on Sept. 2, 1888 in Davis County, Iowa, the son of Reuben and Mary Jane ELLISON COOP. He was a resident of Davis County most of his life. He farmed, retiring in 1954. He moved to Ottumwa in 1973.

He was married to Electa DOLL on Dec. 22, 1914 at Bloomfield. She survives.

Also surviving is a daughter, Mrs. Ann McCLURE of Ottumwa, one son, Oris COOP of Fairfield, seven grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Effie MORRISON of Huron, S.D., and Mrs. Avis ROSE of Mount Pleasant; one brother, Earl COOP of West Grove.
