Carl Olson Had Worked in Mines
and Owned Interests in Several
for Many Years

Carl Olson, bachelor, age 73, a resident of Centerville for the past 45 years, died at his home at 1103 South Main this morning at 5:30 o'clock. A bachelor Mr. Olson had lived alone for many years. During his last illness, which began some two months ago, he had been cared for by Mrs. L. J. Gustafson.
Born in Sweden Mr. Olson came directly to this city 45 years ago and has been a miner here since. He was employed at the old Scandinavian mine, the White Oak, and of late years had been at Exline mines. He was well known and liked and had an interest in a number of different local shafts.
In death he is preceded by two brothers, Axel Olson, formerly, of Rockford, and Leonard Olson, formerly of Centerville. Surviving are three sisters and a brother, Mrs. L. J. Gustafson, Mrs. C. W. Carlson, of Centerville, Mrs. N. N. Johnson, of Spokane, Washington, and Andrew Olson, of Salt Lake.
Mr. Olson attended the Congregational church here and funeral services will be held Thursday at 2:30 at the Beckner funeral home, with the Rev. E. Mattson, pastor of that church officiating. Burial will be in Oakland cemetery.
