Mrs. Christine Olson, 82, passed away in Rockford, ILL., Thursday, Jan. 28, 1954, at 10:55 p.m. She had been seriously ill for the past three weeks.
Mrs. Olson was born in Varnland, Sweden May 7, 1871, coming to Centerville when a young woman with her husband to establish their home here. The family home was at 1212 S. 15th street for many years before they moved to Rockford.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Axel Olson, in 1936, and one son, Herbert, in 1923. Left to mourn her passing are the daughter,
Mrs. Esther Forsythe of Pittsburgh, Pa.; one son, Clarence of Rockford; and three grandchildren. One brother, David Anderson, of Rockford, also survives.
During her residence in Centerville, Mrs. Olson was an active member of the Mission Covenant Church.
Interment will be in the family lot in Oakland cemetery. Rev. Casper Bensen will conduct graveside services at 10 a.m. Monday. The family will be at the Johnson Funeral home Sunday afternoon from 3 to 4 p.m. to meet friends.
