CENTERVILLE—Milton Vern Herr. resident of 517 North 4th Street. Centerviile, was taken by death Saturday, July 11. 1970, at 8:40 p.m. in St. Joseph's Hospital. He was 72 years, 26 days of age.
The deceased was a retired employee of the Rock Island Arsenal.
He was born in Appanoose County, Iowa, June 15, 1898, the son of Jacob and Margaret Alvina McQuiston Herr. He married Alma Farley in Centerville, January 7, 1920, and she survives his passing. Other survivors include three children, Vera J. Herr, Centerville, Charles Herr, Centerville, Mrs. Margaret Kaprich, Rathbun; 13 grandchildren, including Pete and Venetia Herr, who were raised and are still living in the home: four great-grandchildren; three brothers, William of Mystic, Fred of Centerville, and Ben of Kelso, Wash. Preceding him in death were his parents and a son, Jacob
Glenn Herr.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 1:30 p.m. from the Johnson Funeral Home. Rev.
Donald Thrash, pastor of the First Baptist Church, will officiate and burial will be in Oakland Cemetery.
