John Daniels
John Fred Daniels, 83, a resident of LeClaire, Iowa, died Thursday at his home.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Monday at McGinnis Funeral Home in Bettendorf.
Burial will be in Glendale Cemetery in LeClaire. Memorials may be made to the family.
Born Sept. 25, 1902, in Exline, he was the son of James and Mary Bever Daniels.
He married Vera Cooley June 22, 1927, in Corydon. He owned and operated the Prospect Coal Mine near Exline for 14 years, and managed a service station in Detroit, Mich, for 13 years. He retired in 1972 from the Clinton Engine Co. in
Maquoketa after 22 years of employment.
Surviving, are his wife, one daughter, Shirley Manning, LeClaire; a son, Neil, of Kingston, Mich.; seven grandchildren, six great-grandchildren; a half-sister, Marie Campbell of Centerville; and a half-brother. Glen Daniels, also of Centerville.
