EZRA SALTER AN
OLD SOLDIER DEAD
The death of Ezra Salter, a farmer living north of this city, occurred last evening at the family home after a lingering illness for some month. Death was due to tuberculosis, a fact peculiar in so much that Mr. Salter was over 70 years of age at the time of his death. Funeral services will be held from the home near Forbush on Thursday morning at 10 o'clock with the services in charge of the G. A . R. post of this city.
Mr. Salter was born Feb. 24, 1847, in Indiana where his younger days were spent. He was a veteran of the civil war {Co. C, 7th Ia . Inf.} and his close connection with the life of Centerville had made him well known turnout the business section. On the farm he was always a congenial husband, father and neighbor.
He will be missed in the neighborhood where he was so well known. Burial will be made at the Haynes cemetery.
