Mrs. Thomas Atkinson
Emily Ozena Gibson was born near where the town of Udell, Iowa now stands Feb. 28, 1859 and died aged 57 years, 11 months. She was married to
Thomas Atkinson Feb. 16, 1881, to which marriage were born four sons, all of whom are living, Clyde L. and T. Ralph, of Centerville. Ralph is expecting soon to be in school at Ashland, Ohio; E. Grant of Rio Cuarto, Argentine, South America, and is working in the foreign mission field of the Brethren church; B. Harrison
is living on the home farm near Udell.
Sister Atkinson was a loving wife, a kind mother, the very best of neighbors, and very faithful and true servant of the Lord Jesus Christ. Her great aim in life was to help others. She bore her sickness with Christian grace and fortitude and met the enemy calmly and peacefully and conquered, thus proving what John Wesley said, "Our people die well."
Besides the childrens he leaves behind to mourn her loss, a husband, aged mother, four brothers and four sisters, and a host of neighbors and friends.
" Servant of God, well done; the battle's fought, the victory won, and thou
art crowned at last."

Note: Emily buried at Fairview cemetery, Udell, Appanoose Co., Iowa.
